Korigon: I found out from Mero what happened and I have some questions.
Mari: The High Judge will determine her fate, not you nor I.
Korigon: Do you realize what you've done?
Mari: I saw an irresponsible girl, who, whether purposefully or inadvertently, caused the death of her parents, our king and queen. That's not the kind of person I want ruling over me.
Korigon: It will be hard for her to be queen now, so I hope you're happy. But I don't think you understand the full reach of your actions.
Mari: Oh, because I wasn't born into nobility? Because I had to earn my position, one impossible to achieve because of my heritage and sex, yet I managed to do so anyway? Please enlighten me, Lord Korigon.
Korigon: Please, spare me your self-righteous tirade. Take a moment to see things from Tiffani's point of view.
You're traumatized because your parents just died in front of your eyes and when a familiar face finally arrives, instead of comfort, you're thrown into jail and blamed for their deaths.
At best, even if acquitted, people will still be suspicious. And if convicted of any of the charges, whether treason, regicide, or involvement in dark arts, there is only one fate awaiting: execution.
Mari: Please, spare me your false concern for her well-being. You're just angry that you're son won't inherit the throne!
